“God wants the whole person and will not rest till He gets us entirely.” - A.W. Tozer
Romans 1: What are we worshiping? The challenge that Paul lays out in Romans 1 is definitely one that we should consider in our own lives.
Paul starts off encouraging the Roman believers with these words:...
It broke His heart. Consider: Genesis 6:1-10
Verse 6 of Genesis 6 is heart-wrenching.
"So the LORD was sorry He ever made them. It broke His heart."
Can you imagine God stating that...
“God wants the whole person and will not rest till He gets us entirely.” - A.W. Tozer
“The sovereign God wants to be loved for Himself and honored for Himself, but that is only part of what He wants. The other part is that He wants us to know that when we have Him we have everything — we have all the rest”- A.W. Tozer
Check out the LORD’s heart in the passage Leviticus 26:11-12:
“I will live among you, and I will not despise you. I will walk among you; I will be your God and your will be My people.”
This passage is prefaced with Israel obeying God. However, to me it speaks to His ultimate desire to be with His chosen people.
In Pursuit of One was born out of a desire to ellaborate on the eternal relationship between God and man. This is not designed to be a theological perspective, but rather a discussion on pursuing God.
In my own life, my pursuit has been interesting in that I feel I’ve seen many sides of this “relationship”. For a large portion of my life, I understood this relationship to simply be my salvation in Jesus Christ. However, about 10 or so years ago, God began to open my heart to show me that this fellowship that we have the opportunity to participate in is so much more than just being saved from hell.
I invite you to participate in this journey as I document this pursuit with things such as thoughts of God, bits of Scripture concerning relationship, books that inspire, worship music that pulls the heart, and more.
Maybe the idea of knowing God personally is a new concept, or maybe you’ve had glimpses of intimacy, but don’t know that much about it. If that is you I would encourage you to open your heart and join me In Pursuit of One.
